“Rome was heaving (April) for Jubilee year, Easter week & Pope’s death - even so we did not need to have booked entry tickets in advance. No queues first thing, plenty of space in galleries to move around and see detail. A wealth of paintings (Raphael, Perruggio, PP Rubens etc) - we didn’t get to Uffizzi so this was well worth it, took over 3 hours inside the palace. Also fabric/costumes, mosaic stone work in floors and tables, sculptures….able to see everything close up and standing back. Boboli Gardens are a good enough example of classic Italianate structuring of a garden but were not well-kept or were quite dull in…”

“We saw the Pitti Palace, Boboli Garden and² Palatine Gallery on 4 Oct 2025 with our wonderful guide. As part of the same ticket we were then able to explore the 'modern' art exhibit on the 2nd floor, the exhibit of other artefacts and the display of Italian fashion across the last few centuries. Brilliant and beautiful. Our guide was an expert, able to talk about what was in front of us and the history associated. We discovered places and descriptions and information we would otherwise have missed. It was one of our favuorite tours in Italy.”
